This weekend will herald the start of an exciting new era in North Nottinghamshire as we officially launch our Mansfield Town Ladies Football Team.
This season, our ladies will play under the ‘Mansfield Town’ umbrella, as it is certain to increase media interest, exposure and professionalism in women’s football.
Like our men’s team, who won the Conference Premier title last term, our ladies were also title-winners as they cruised to the East Midlands Premier Division title.
On Sunday, as part of an action-packed launch day, our ladies, who will be now be headed by new chairperson Carolyn Radford (the Stags' chief executive) will go head-to-head with Derby County in a five-a-side match at One Call Stadium.
Supporters can get their first glimpse of the team at 11.00am, when the main gate, (in between the Ian Greaves Stand and Quarry Lane End) will be open.
Our ladies will show off their soccer skills, partake in fun-filled boxer-size sessions, prior to their five-a-side duel with The Rams.
Our ladies’ theme tune will also be exclusively revealed as they prepare for their first campaign in the third tier - just two levels below the Women’s Super League.
Afterwards, fans have a perfect opportunity to meet our ladies for the first time, as they will be in the Sandy Pate Bar to chat and sign autographs.
So make sure you don’t miss out on what is sure to be a fabulous afternoon. Visit One Call Stadium this Sunday to meet our fantastic Mansfield Town Ladies Football Team.
