Murray pens contract extension

9 November 2012

Player/Assistant boss Adam Murray has penned a one-year extension to his One Call Stadium contract which will keep him at the club until May 2014.

The 31-year-old, who is in his third spell with us, was delighted to have signed an extension which will help to prolong a remarkable playing career that began at Derby County in 1999.

Murray said: “For me personally, this extension helps me to plan for the future.”

“I have certain projects here that I have got planned and the chairman is obviously happy with the roles that I’m playing at the moment, so I’m glad it’s done and dusted.”

Our midfield maestro is currently juggling a hectic daily schedule at the club, in which he combines first team training duties with coaching our impressive youth team.

“The youth team has been a breath of fresh air and I’m enjoying every minute of it,” proclaimed Murray.

“In the mornings, I train as normal with the first team, so that is where I get my football and my fitness. Then, in the afternoons, me and Coops [Richard Cooper] work with the youth team."
