Cox hopes for positive display

26 November 2012

Manager Paul Cox is hoping for a positive reaction from his players, when we make the short trip to face Matlock Town in an FA Trophy First Round Replay tomorrow night.Ā

Our boss cut a frustrated figure on the sidelines on Saturday, as his team produced a sluggish display against their Evo-Stik Premier League counterparts.Ā

Despite extending our unbeaten run to seven games, the Gladiators squirmed several gilt-edge chances to record what would have been a deserved cup shock.Ā

Mark Stevenson and the Chad's John Lomas are asking the questions

ā€œIā€™m not going to change my opinion. It was a poor performance from us and one that we now want to put to the back of our minds,ā€ declared Cox, who was speaking earlier today.Ā

He continued: ā€œBut weā€™ve got to be positive going into the next game. Iā€™m expecting a positive reaction from the boys and for us to put in a better performance.Ā

ā€œSometimes the pressure is off when you go away from home, but itā€™ll be a tough game, similar to Slough. Weā€™ve got to ensure we go there and adapt well to the conditions.ā€Ā

Defender John Dempster, who was sent-off in our aforementioned FA Cup game at Slough, could return to the team after serving his three-match suspension.Ā

Our boss has also confirmed that he has no fresh injury worries ahead of tomorrow nightā€™s clash at Causeway Lane, which is scheduled to kick-off at 7.45pm.

Prices are:
Adults: Ā£9Ā
Concessions: Ā£5.50 (Senior citizens and U16s)Ā
U11: Ā£2

Full match commentary will be provided by our online broadcasting station, Stags Player from 7.40pm.

The draw for the FA Trophy Second Round takes place this afternoon.
