Mansfield Town under-18s face Morecambe on Saturday in the Youth Alliance Cup quarter-finals (2pm kick-off).

Stags were made to settle for a goalless draw in the league at Harrogate last time out.

Mansfield head to Morecambe unbeaten in 2024. Professional development phase lead coach Steve Chettle hopes his side can continue their fine form at the weekend.

“We want to get back to how we were playing against Doncaster [in a 4-1 win],” he said.

“It’ll be our furthest trip of the season so far.

“The club have very kindly put a coach on for us and we’re looking forward to the game.”

On the opposition, the former Nottingham Forest defender added: “We’ve watched a lot of clips on them.

“They have some very technical midfield players and a big strong centre-forward.

“We’ll finalise our preparations tomorrow [Friday].”

The encounter will take place at Lancaster & Morecambe College, Morecambe Road, Lancaster (LA1 2TY).
