Darlington v Mansfield Town | FA Trophy Final | Saturday 07 May 2011 | Wembley | 3pm
Saturday 07 May 2011 is a day our supporters will remember for years to come as we made only our second ever appearance at Wembley Stadium.
Chris Senior's 120th minute strike for opponents Darlington may have crushed our dreams of emulating the success of Ian Greaves' 1987 Freight Rover winning side, however, we will forever look back at the day as one of the most heart warming in our recent History.
On the day itself, over 15,000 fans made the trip to Wembley, decked out with replica shirts, scarf's, flags and other memorabilia which sold to excess. Convoys of coaches carrying excited and proud supporters down the A406 towards the national stadium, with a real family carnival-like atmosphere flowing up and down the infamous Wembley Way.
Despite the heart breaking last minute defeat, fans will always look back at Duncan Russell's side's bow at the national stadium as a shining light in a mediocre Blue Square season.
On this page we aim to take a look back at not only the big day itself, but the path we took to get there, so that the memory's of our FA Trophy run and 'Wembley 2011' with live long forever.
