Reserves emerge victorious over Silkmen
Our second string attained their first victory of the Central League campaign, with a 2-1 win over Macclesfield Town at Field Mill.
James Kay opened the scoring on the hour mark, with a sensational 25 yard half volley, which looped over the visiting goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
Less than ten minutes later, Anthony Robinson doubled Stags lead from the edge of the six yard box before Macclesfield replied minutes later to reduce the deficit.
A crowd of over 60 watched a highly entertaining reserve match, and the attendance would probably have been more had it not been for the fixture clash with England's World Cup Qualifyer against Belarus taking place on the same night.
