Comfortable on either wing or as a central striker Briscoe began his career as a trainee at Port Vale where he made four appearances for the first team.
After his release from Vale in 2007 he spent the next couple of years playing part-time football and lists Gresley Rovers, Leek Town, Stafford Rangers and Ilkeston Town amongst his clubs.
Briscoe was handed a second bite at the professional cherry when David Holdsworth signed Briscoe in January of last season. The Burton born player scored his first goal for The Stags in a 2-0 win over Ebbsfleet in April and has since signed up for The Stags until 2011.
