32-year-old Williams joined the Stags from Weymouth in February 2009 after several successful seasons at Football League level.
Mansfield-born, his diminutive stature belies his true ability and after beginning his career at Field Mill, he was quickly snapped up by Tranmere for £70,000 in 1997.
The pacy winger moved onto Chesterfield for £85,000 in 2000 before Hull paid £150,000 for his services just one year later. Stints at Bristol Rovers, Forest Green and Aldershot followed before his short spell on the South Coast.
After failing to break into the first team this term, Williams was snapped up on a month's loan by Blue Square North side Gainsborough Trinity in October 2010.
