Mansfield District Council is reminding Stags supporters about the parking restrictions around Field Mill, asking you to always park within the law and to show consideration for local residents.

Towards the end of last season the Council received a number of complaints from local residents about illegal and indiscriminate parking on streets around the ground.

The parking restrictions have been put in place by the highways authority, Nottinghamshire County Council for a reason. This can often be to provide safe access for pedestrians, vehicles and the emergency services or to provide local residents with parking for vehicles near their home. Supporters are reminded that single or double yellow line restrictions marked on the road also apply to the adjoining pavement and/or grass verges.

In response to the complaints, the Council agreed to dispatch enforcement officers to patrol the areas around the ground on match days from the start of the new season until the practice stops. A number of penalty charge notices have already been served on vehicles following the start of the patrols.

Supporters do have a number of options for parking their vehicles. Car parks near to Field Mill regularly have spaces available on match days, including:

Field Mill (operated by Mansfield Town FC) - £5 (off Quarry Lane, adjacent to the ground)

Robin Hood Line car park - 70p per hour or £3 for up to 8 hours (150 yards from the ground)

Grove Street - 70p per hour or £3 for up to 8 hours (off Commercial Gate, near Nottingham Road)

Garden Road - 70p per hour (off Peacock St, near Superbowl)

Water Meadows - 70p per hour (off Bath St)

The money raised from any penalty charge notice issued in the county is used to pay for the enforcement service. Any surplus must be spent directly on improving local transport. This includes improving parking, traffic management, better public transport and facilities for pedestrians or cyclists.

Anyone who thinks they have been issued with a fixed penalty notice unfairly does have the right of appeal through Nottinghamshire County Council. Details are printed on the reverse of the fixed penalty notice.
