Flying winger Adam Smith has turned down a contract offer with York City to sign a one year deal with us, we are pleased to announce. The 25 year old made 18 starts and 15 substitute appearances for the Minstermen last season.
He began his career at Chesterfield in 2002, where he made over 70 appearances.
After putting pen to paper, he told mansfieldtown.net: "I'm absolutely over the moon and am already looking forward to my career with the Stags.
"This club is going the right way. There is clear ambition here and the manager is determined to put the club back in the Football League.
"I have a good gut feeling about this move," he added.
Manager David Holdsworth said: "I am delighted to capture someone of Adam's versatility. He can play on either wing and up front.
"He shows both pace and dynamism to our forward line."
His contract will start on 01 July.
