The family of our former manager Ian Greaves and players whom he guided to our finest hour at Wembley Stadium will be present for the renaming of the West Stand here at Field Mill on Saturday 13th March.

Vera Greaves, and her sons Jason & Simon, and Ian's daughter Christine will be joined by much of the 1987 Freight Rover Trophy winning team including Keith Cassells, Kevin Hitchcock and Mike Graham for the event and dedication of what will be known as the Ian Greaves Stand sponsored by Napit.

We are inviting supporters to attend the 12.30pm ceremony prior to our Blue Square Premier clash with Tamworth in order to witness a dedication by club chaplain Rev. Tim Mitchell, listen to speakers including Chairman Andrew Perry and have an opportunity to collect autographs and have their picture taken with former playing legends in the Sandy Pate Bar.

The ceremony will be repeated on the pitch nearer to kick off in front of the Field Mill crowd but supporters should come earlier if they would like to meet the legendary team that played in our only ever appearance at the national stadium.

Chairman Andrew Perry said: "Mr Greaves was arguably our greatest ever manager and led us to one of club's finest hours at Wembley.

"By honouring Mr Greaves in this way, we are putting another piece in the jigsaw which is helping to put the soul back into Mansfield Town Football Club."
