mansfieldtown.net can reveal that fans favourite Ryan Williams has agreed to sign an extension to his contract which will keep him with us until May 2011.

The diminutive winger joined us in February this year after leaving ex-Blue Square Premier club Weymouth.

The 30 year old played only 14 times for us since his arrival, but still managed to pick up an end of term award for 'Player of the Season' from local newspaper, The Observer.

Speaking to mansfieldtown.net boss David Holdsworth said:  "I am delighted with Ryan and I feel we have a very accomplished player.  The qualities the little man brings to us are invaluable.

"I felt it was necessary to offer him the security of a two year deal.

"He is delighted to remain here, as am I.  We look forward to him scoring lots of goals and deliver plenty of crosses," he added.

Meanwhile, Ryan told mansfieldtown.net this morning that he intends to finish his playing days at Field Mill.

It is expected that pen will be put to paper early next week.
