The youth team's inconsistent form continued at Carnarvon Street this afternoon, as the Stags fell to a 4-2 defeat to local rivals Lincoln City.  All six goals came in a packed second half, a complete contrast to the first period which was a dreadful spectacle.

Stags chief David Jervis made one change from the side which beat Grimsby a week ago - Lewis Trimmer replaced Grant Ryan in attack.

In an even first half, Stags should hav gone int front moments before half time when defender Rob McCormick was unmarked inside the six yard box, but eaded wide from a right wing cross.

Just three minutes into the second period, the visitors broke the deadlock, following a tap in from a left wing cross.  With just over an hour played, Stags' sforward Lewis Trimmer levelled the game with a 20 yard strike, which the Lincoln keeper should have done better with.

Only five minutes later, Stags took the lead, when Tom Naylor bagged his first of the season from ten yards following good work from Trimmer.

Lincoln came back ,however, to bag another three goals and claim the points.

Their equaliser came from an unbelivable moment from Stags' defender Rob McCormick.  After attempting to clear the ball just inside his area, the ball spun of his foot and into the back of the net, with goalkeeper Gibbons helpless.

Lincoln then added another two goals to seal the victory, and half Stags' cimb to the summit of the league.
