KEIGAN Parker believes he can keep the goals flowing now he is up and running in a Mansfield Town shirt. Reports Matt Halfpenny of The Evening Post.
The diminutive former Blackpool and Oldham striker failed to net in his first four competitive games for the Stags after signing in the summer.
But he then netted a penalty in the 1-0 home win over Cambridge and a double in the victory at Altrincham.
Parker was unable to find the target in last Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Tamworth but came as close as anyone when he struck a post direct from a free-kick.
But he insists his confidence in on the rise having regained his place in the team following the brief promotion of Luke Medley and with three goals to his name.
"It was disappointing for me not to score in those early games when you want to make an impression," said Parker.
"But the last couple of weeks have been better and I feel if I keep working hard, as I intend to, then I can put the goals away.
"As a striker you thrive on confidence and the goals I have now got have helped.
"It was disappointing against Tamworth, but we are going to get sides who come to Field Mill and shut up shop.
"It is up to us to change the way we play and perhaps not go quite so long as we were a bit one-dimensional.
"But if we can create the chances, I feel myself and people like Paul Connor can do the scoring."
Parker and Rob Duffy disagreed over who should take Mansfield's last penalty in the 4-0 win at Altrincham.
Duffy had the job last year, but Parker, having won the kick himself, kept hold of the ball and duly tucked it away.
He said: "We have quite a few people who fancy themselves to take penalties, but having scored my last one against Cambridge, I backed myself at Altrincham.
"Rob was taking them before so thankfully I managed to score.
"All strikers know if they can put them away then it adds a few goals to their tally."
