Owain Thomas reports from Field Mill as Mansfield complete another home victory.
Three goals from three different scorers gave the Stags three more points as they made it three wins in a week.
Ebbsfleet were soundly beaten at Field Mill, though it wasn't without a fight, but the Stags ran away with it after the break, as Louis Briscoe and Jake Speight added to Rob Duffy's first half opener.
The hard work was done in that first half, with both sides attacking and counter-attacking as Ebbsfleet took the game to Mansfield.
Duffy got the first on the half-hour with a fine finish after beating the offside trap and keeping his composure. He took his goal well, controlling Chris Armstrong's cross before placing the ball across goalkeeper Lance Cronin and into the left-hand corner.
But Duffy could have given the Stags an early lead. His fourth minute shot was smothered by Leon Crooks who dove at his feet just six yards out from goal, with Cronin nowhere to be seen.
That effort had been created by the Stags' wingers Ryan Williams and Briscoe combining, before the latter tricked and turned Jordan Collins inside-out and fed Duffy.
Williams and Briscoe's influence was a critical one throughout the game, and time after time they provided the keys to unlocking the Ebbsfleet defence and their offside trap. Briscoe was particularly active early on, as his long-range rocket drew a fine save from Cronin who tipped over.
It was Briscoe who scored Mansfield's second, eight minutes after the break. The winger popped up on the left side for once, and collected Luke Jones chipped through ball just on the edge of the area, before advancing and slotting under the on-rushing Cronin.
But it wasn't all one way traffic. Ebbsfleet huffed and puffed their way through the first half, competing fiercely with the Stags midfield and creating opening of their own, but they couldn't quite blow the Mansfield house down.
That was as much to do with their poor finishing, with Ishmael Welsh and Darius Charles wasting good chances. Simon Thomas also chipped over when it would have been easier to score, but the Crystal Palace loanee's blushes were saved by the linesman's flag.
And soon after Mansfield had taken the lead, Gavin Heeroo unleashed a free-kick that arrowed just wide of Alan Marriott's top corner.
In truth, the Mansfield keeper had little to do during the game, but was solid in what activity was thrust upon him, and he ensured the Stags kept a clean sheet as they eased off in the final ten minutes.
By the time substitute Speight completed the scoring on 66 minutes, Ebbsfleet were well beaten and the Stags running rampant as they attacked freely down both wings and isolated Fleet's fullbacks.
It was one of these moves that provided Speight's goal. Kyle Perry found space wide on the right, cut into the box and curled a left-footed shot that Cronin did well to get a hand to, but the ball ballooned up to Speight who nodded into the unguarded net.
Duffy also had another chance to add to his total, but his header from Williams left-wing cross sailed inches wide of the post with Cronin beaten.
Perry was himself unlucky not get on the scoresheet. A goal which his hard-work, support play and strength in holding the ball up would have well deserved. However, he was a constant thorn in Ebbsfleet's side, and combined well with all his strike partners.
Kyle Nix and Matt Somner controlled much of the second half play in midfield, with Somner flashing a shot just over Cronin's bar in the first half, and Nix creating havoc in the visitor's defence with his set pieces.
The back four were largely untroubled after the break, but stand-in captain Luke Jones and Scott Garner were particularly strong in their battles with the towering Thomas and battling Magno Viera, while Gary Silk and Armstrong provided good support to Williams and Briscoe on the wings.
The win lifts Mansfield to second in the table, just a point behind leaders Oxford United.
