Mansfield Town recorded their first away win in nine league outings after securing an important 3-0 victory away at Ebbsfleet United.
Stags continue to remain unbeaten in the calendar year of 2012 and now stretch their run to six games without defeat.
The win was no less than the Stags deserved as Paul Cox's men surged up to 9th in the league table.
Matt Green bagged his 18th goal of the season and Gary Roberts, Stags' star performer, also put his name on the scoresheet with a superb long range strike in the first half and a well-placed finish in the second after Fleet goalkeeper Preston Edwards tried to keep it out.
Stags burst out of the traps and almost took the lead as early as 27 seconds following a deep right-wing throw from Ritchie Sutton. Matt Green played it neatly infield to Ben Hutchinson who advanced unopposed through the middle before shooting wide from 20 yards.
Mansfield enjoyed the majority of possession in the early stages, with midfielder Gary Roberts again pulling the strings.
Ebbsfleet had to wait ten minutes before testing Stags' keeper Alan Marriott. Mansfield failed to clear properly in defence, but the the home side failed to make it pay when Liam Enver-Marum stuck straight at Marriott, who went down low to make the stop.
The same player crossed agonisingly across the face of goal just three minutes later, but there were no red shirts to connect in the centre.
Moments later, Craig Stone, the Ebbsfleet full back, whipped in from the right, but Enver-Marum, again in the thick of the action, couldn't meet his cross in the air from 12 yards out.
But despite Ebbsfleet's improvement, it was Stags who eventually gained the advantage on 22 minutes through their likely scorer, Matt Green. Alan Marriott's route one ball was flicked on by Ross Dyer into the path of Green whose beautifully placed finish found the bottom corner of the goal.
Just a minute later, Mansfield had a penalty appeal turned down when Tom Phipp appeared to upend Green inside the box.
Ebbsfleet nearly found a way back into the game on 28 minutes when Adam Murray lost possession on the edge of his own area. Nathaniel Pinney slipped it through to Enver-Marum who struck tamely at Marriott from inside the area.
The home side then had their goalkeeper Preston Edwards to thank after Stags hit the Fleet on the counter attack. A poor Ebbsfleet corner saw Luke O'Neill head downfield to Adam Smith who found Murray with a short pass. The Stags' skipper did well to get the ball past his man before lofting the ball to the right. Gary Roberts and Hutchinson combined well before Hutchinson's shot was palmed away by Edwards
Roberts then hit a rasping effort towards goal from 20 yards on 35 minutes, but Edwards was well behind it.
But he wasn't to be denied three minutes later when he netted a magnificent goal.
Picking the ball up from Hutchinson 25 yards out, Roberts sent an unstoppable drive into the bottom corner of the goal leaving Edwards with no chance to double Stags' lead.
Stags still looked hungry to add to their tally and Luke O'Neill went close on the stroke of half time when his 25 yard free kick flew inches wide of Edwards' right hand post.
Ebbsfleet came out with all guns blazing in the second half and Alan Marriott had to be alert early on by saving from Michael West's 25 yard free kick.
Minutes later, Matt Green, who appeared to be carrying a knock, came off to be replaced by Louis Briscoe.
And on 65, Briscoe rifled a shot at goal from inside the area, but it was relatively easy for Edwards in the home goal.
Two minutes later, Marriott was almost at full stretch when he saved with one hand from a long range shot by Enver-Marum.,
Ebbsfleet huffed and puffed but couldn't break down a resilient Stags' defence. Enver-Marum and substitute Lanre Azeez both saw hopeful shots sail wide, as the hosts appeared to run out of ideas.
Enver-Marum had another chance on 75 minutes, but his well-hit drive took a strong deflection to go behind for a corner.
Lindon Meikle then took to the field for Mansfield, on for Adam Smith with the game 78 minutes old.
Stags should have made it 3-0 on 81 minutes as Meikle made an immediate impact by delivering a pin point cross from the right, but the unmarked Ross Dyer missed a gilt-edged chance by heading over from five yards.
Three minutes later, Ebbsfleet's Enver-Marum smashed it against the side netting from inside the area and moments later, Stags' boss Paul Cox made his third and final change when Anthony Howell came on for Hutchinson.
Dyer should have got his name on the scoresheet in the 90th when Meikle again teed him up with a pass across the penalty box, but Dyer struck the outside of the post when he should have tested Edwards.
Stags finally added a third goal in four minutes of added on time. Briscoe assisted on the right and Roberts volleyed the ball at Edwards from close range who did well to get down low to make the parry. But he could do nothing about the follow up as Roberts placed it home with ease to cap another Man of the Match display.
