With only five rounds separating us from a Wembley final, manager David Holdsworth sees the FA Trophy as a golden opportunity for silverware.
Speaking yesterday, the gaffer stressed that we will be treating the competition with the utmost respect.
He said: "The imprint here at the football club is that we want to win every game, whether it be in the league or in a cup competition.
"The FA Trophy gives you the opportunity to experience a Wembley final, which would be a wonderful occasion for both our players and the fans.
"A lot of clubs will be motivated by this, and the smaller teams will be desperate to produce a good cup run.
"The lower ranked teams that have reached this stage have already had to work hard, whilst we have the luxury of entering the competition after the qualifying rounds.
"A decent run in the cupwouldbe very rewarding for the football club," he added.
Saturday's 1st Round match against Tamworth will mark the first time we have met, as the Lambs gained promotion to the Blue Square Premier last season.
There will be some added significance to the tie as in Gavin Hurren, Michael Blackwood, Simon Brown, Iyseden Christie, Tom Shaw, and Neil MacKenzie, the Lambs boast no less than six ex-Stags faces.
With Tamworth also situated in the Midlands, the gaffer attributes this overwhelming presence to a matter of geographical convenience.
He said: "It's down to location more than anything else. Tamworth is an ideal club for them as they all live around the Birmingham area.
"They're all good lads and I have respect for them, but in football you have to move on."
