A recent letter read as follows:

David,

Just a quick letter from all of the boys based out here in Afghanistan who are 100% sure that this is the year the Stags get back into the Football League. There are 20 of us out here from C Company, based at the T.A Centre on Bath Street.

Our six months tour of duty finishes at the end of September by which I expect the Stags to be a few points clear at the top of the league.

We came to the home game against Lewes back in late February and can't wait to get back to see some football, as well as getting away from this heat (45˚C today).

Anyway good luck, please wish all the players a good season and hopefully we should be good for the home game to Histon at the end of October.
