Mansfield Town's Football in the Community department have become the first ever non-league club to be given a bronze award by the Football League Trust, in recognition for exceptionally high standards.
Football in the Community arrange a whole variety of activities for people of all ages and abilities within Mansfield, Ashfield, and further afield.
Today, they have been recognised as one of the top Community departments by the Football League Trust.Mike Evans, the Trust's regional community manager, told mansfieldtown.net:"Despite not being a member of the Football League anymore, Mansfield Town's Football in the Community have continued to make massive improvements each year.This includes: the quality of their coaching to kids, the activities which they host, the general day-to-day running of the department, and such like."
"They are the first club in non-league to win this award, which is a fantastic achievement," he added.
