Parents of players in our Centre of Excellence are invited to attend a meeting at the Kevin Bird Suite at Field Mill tomorrow (Saturday) at 10.30am.The meeting, the third of its kind since the end of the season, has been set up by U15s parent Kevin Newton. It comes after our loss of two years' parachute payments to fund the Centre from the Football League.
Negotiations with parents are still ongoing as a restructure of the Centre now looks likely.
Kevin told mansfieldtown.net last evening: "To take this forward and to judge the full level of support from parents, a proposal to hold a meeting this Saturday 22nd at 10:30am at Field Mill is on the table for the Parents to put their collective views to plan a way ahead to cover the cost of running the Centre.
"Proposals could see the cost covered by various mediums, but would include the Parents contributing to the level they have over the past two years and not necessarily the much higher figures that have been quoted through gossip."
Kevin Newton would like a parent from all the other age groups to help try an co-ordinate the meeting and get as many children represented, so a full level of commitment can be obtained.
