Youth preview: Bradford City vs Stags

24 September 2015

Our under 18s side travel to West Yorkshire to take on Bradford City this Saturday (26 September) at 12pm.

The young Stags are unbeaten after the first six games of the season however they will come up against arguably their toughest test yet in a Bantams side who are top of the league after winning all five of their opening league fixtures.

Tom Marriott will miss the trip to West Yorkshire with concussion after colliding with a Nike Academy player during the behind-closed-doors game in midweek. However last week match-winner Morgan Ratcliffe is expected to return to the squad after requiring hospital treatment for a cut suffered in the win over York. Devante Reittie and Drew Gibson are also expected to return after their respective injuries.

Former Stags’ defender turned youth team coach John Dempster has said that his side have a huge task ahead of them in the form of Bradford, but says the squad is confident in their own ability.

“Our preparation has been no different to our other games. We’re focussed and there’s huge belief in the camp and we all want to keep our unbeaten run going.”

We welcome supporters wishing to follow Dempster’s side to West Yorkshire and the playing address is as follows:

Rawdon Meadows Playing Field
Harrogate Road
Apperley Bridge
Bradford
BD10 0NR
