Boss Adam Murray snaps up young winger
We are pleased to announce the signing of pacey young winger Nathan Thomas on a free transfer from Scottish Premiership outfit Motherwell.The 20-year-old, who hails from North Yorkshire, made two appearances for Ian Baracloughās team in 2014/15 after joining them on a free transfer midway through the season.
A graduate of Sunderlandās youth set-up, Thomas spent time at Darlington 1883 in the early days of his career, before penning a move to Plymouth Argyle ā for whom he turned out on 24 occasions.
Whilst at the Pilgrims, he scored his only senior goal against Hartlepool United in a 2-0 victory last term.
On his signing for the club, Thomas said:Ā āAdam Murray [the manager] sold the club really well to me, with the style of football he wants to play and where he wants to take the club.
āI think he wants a youthful approach this season, with loads of energy, playing with wide men and playing football by passing the ball and playing it through the sections of the pitch ā itās how I was brought up to play football, the proper way.ā
Manager Adam Murray said: āNathan is somebody who was with us for a month at the end of last season [on trial].
āHe's a direct quick winger with a superb left foot which can create and he has āa goal in himā.
āAs a person he is hungry and has a point to prove. He knows that he has to maximize the potential he has and we will help him to do this.
āIt's an opportunity for Nathan and with hard work and the right attitude I believe he can be special.ā
