Centre-half joins on loan ahead of Pompey trip

Young centre-half Jamie Sendles-White has joined us on a one month emergency loan from Queens Park Rangers, the club are pleased to announce.

Stags’ chairman John Radford gave the green light to the move yesterday following the news that seven first team players will be sidelined ahead of tomorrow’s match at Portsmouth.

The commanding defender, who has been with the Premier League club since the age of 15, signed a new one year deal with the R’s in the summer after a number of impressive displays in the club’s elite development squad.

Sendles-White was also part of the Rangers' team which reached the Professional Development League Two play-off final in April.

Manager Paul Cox told our official website www.mansfieldtown.net: “We've had to move into the market as a result of our injury situation and we’ve brought in a player, in Jamie, who has international experience with Northern Ireland at youth and U21 level.

“He also featured in QPR’s pre-season tour of Germany and is a player who they rate very highly.

“I’d like to thank QPR for allowing Jamie to join us,” he added.

The 20-year-old is eligible to play in our FA Cup first round tie on Saturday 08 November and is available for selection tomorrow at Fratton Park.

Meanwhile, 16-year-old goalkeeper Adam Bishop has travelled with the squad to Portsmouth whilst Dimitar Evtimov remains out with a groin strain.
