Mansfield Town

A team of Mansfield Town legends, including current boss Adam Murray (pictured), will lock horns with a team of soap stars in Jamie Walker’s 10th annual charity match at One Call Stadium later this summer.

On Sunday 03 May, the match, which will commence at 3.00pm, will raise vital funds for the Kings Mill Hospital Haematology Ward, Once Upon a Smile Charity and the Radford Foundation.

The event raised an impressive £3,900 last year and organisers look forward to building on that figure even further this time around. 

Amongst the legends who will be participating for the Stags are Simon Coleman, Wayne Corden, Micky Boulding, Nathan Arnold and Adam Murray. Others will be confirmed in due course.

They will face off against a squad of well-known soap stars including actor Danny Miller who portrays Aaron Livesey in Emmerdale, along with Scott and Bailey from Waterloo Road. Geordie Shore star Greg Lake has also recently confirmed his place amongst the stars' line-up.

Jamie Walker played for the Stags as a youngster and was thrown a challenge in 2005 after he was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. 

Now in remission, Walker created the idea of staging the annual charity matches as a way of saying thank you to the Haematology Ward at Kings Mill Hospital, where he was treated. 

Tickets for the match are available at One Call Stadium either in advance or at the stadium on the day. Tickets are priced at £5 Adults (18+), £3 Under 18s, Senior Citizens (60+) and Students and £12 for a family match ticket for two adults and two children. Tickets can be pre-purchased online via www.stagstickets.co.uk.

Hospitality packages are also available for the match and include a lunch and the opportunity to ‘meet and greet’ members of both teams. The packages are priced at £20 Adults and £10 Concessions.

Supporters are urged to book their tickets well in advance as a large uptake is anticipated.
