Andy Todd’s second-string continued their superb recent form with a convincing 6-0 thrashing of Morecambe at One Call Stadium last night.
In a spectacle that was spoiled due to strong winds, Todd put us ahead when he converted Jake Green’s pin-point right-wing cross on the half-hour mark.
Chris Clements scored twice in as many minutes shortly before the break, and the goals flowed after the re-start too, as Nick Wright added a fourth.
Wright struck again on the hour, capitalising on havoc caused in the Shrimpers’ area following Clements’ deep free-kick, as menacing Mansfield dominated possession.
And Wright completed the hat-trick late on, with the impressive Clements claiming his third assist.
