Mansfield Town

As we return to the Football League after a five-year absence, our League Two campaign will begin on Saturday 03 August. 

The decision to start the season slightly earlier than usual follows a ballot of clubs, in which a majority opted for the chosen date as it allows for an extra weekend match.

Five of our League Two matches have been set aside for midweek, whilst four matches will be played in just 12 days over the Christmas and New Year period.

The regular season draws to a close on Saturday 03 May 2014, with the League Two Play-Off Final set to occur at Wembley Stadium three weeks later.

Our Capital One Cup campaign will commence on w/c 05 August, as we make the trip to Prenton Park to face Tranmere Rovers in the First Round.

Should we defeat Ronnie Moore’s men, then we could potentially meet a Premier League outfit in the Second Round, which takes place w/c 19 August.

As a member of the Football League, we will now enter the FA Cup with Budweiser at the First Round stage, which is penciled in for Saturday 09 November.

The Second Round has been scheduled for Saturday 07 December, whilst the Third Round, in which Premier League and Championship teams enter, is set for Saturday 04 January 2014.

Meanwhile, we will also participate in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy next term, which is a regionalised competition involving teams from League One and League Two. 

The First Round takes place on w/c 02 September. However, 16 teams will receive a bye for this round, and will therefore proceed straight to the Second Round.

Teams to receive a bye will be announced by the Football League at a later date.
