Everything you need to know ahead of Mansfield Town’s Sky Bet League Two match against Cheltenham Town at One Call Stadium on Easter Monday…
TEAM NEWS
Midfielder Jamie McGuire is available for selection again after serving a two-match ban for accumulating 10 yellow cards this season.
Striker Jake Speight could be named in the starting line-up after coming off the bench to score in our 1-1 draw at Accrington Stanley on Good Friday.
However, the Stags will be without goalkeepers Alan Marriott and Ian Deakin, who are still injured, as well as long-term absentee Lee Beevers.
Forward Ben Hutchinson is unlikely to feature, despite making good progress in his recovery from a hamstring problem.
RECENT FORM
Our team go into this match on a fantastic seven-match unbeaten run, which has lifted us into the top half of the Sky Bet League Two table.
Nevertheless, we were denied a fifth straight win in our match at Accrington Stanley on Good Friday as Kai Naismith’s injury-time spot-kick saw us held to a 1-1 draw.
We currently find ourselves seven points adrift of the Play-Off zone and anything other than a victory will put paid to our slim promotion chances.
Meanwhile, Cheltenham go into this match on the back of a narrow 2-1 defeat at home to Fleetwood Town on Good Friday. Jamie Cureton fired them ahead, but goals from Antoni Sarcevic and Josh Morris earned the Cod Army maximum points.
The Robins currently have 52 points and occupy 16th position in Sky Bet League Two. A win tomorrow would secure their survival in this division for another season.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
In the reverse fixture at Whaddon Road earlier this term, we earned a gritty 2-1 victory thanks to early goals from Matt Rhead and Anthony Howell.
Since Cheltenham’s elevation to the Football League in 1999, there has only been one draw in 15 meetings between the two teams.
Our full record against the Robins is as follows: Won 6, Drew 1, Lost 8.
OFFICIALS
Mr Andy Woolmer has been appointed by the Football League as the referee for this match. He will be ably assisted by Mr Alan Clayton and Mr Kevin Mattocks. The Fourth Official is Mr Daniel Meeson.
