Oxford defeat firmly in the past as boss looks ahead to visit of Dagenham & Redbridge.
Manager Adam Murray insists there is a positive feeling in the camp as our team aim to make it five games unbeaten at One Call Stadium when they entertain Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.
Our team know that a victory will see them leapfrog the Daggers in the Sky Bet League Two table and the Stagsâ boss is relishing the opportunity to get back on home soil following our defeat to Oxford United last time out.
âI think the bottom line has been [about] moving forward,â said Murray.
âThe game last weekend was out of our system straight away. It was one of those that I wanted to draw a line under really quickly and weâve done so. Weâve had a really productive week and I canât wait for Saturday.â
He continued: â[This week] weâve managed to get treatment for the boys whoâve had a few knocks, bangs and bruises from the previous game and weâve managed to get them âover the hillâ."
Murray also believes a sense of perspective is needed in certain quarters following recent results throughout the division.
âSome people will look at things and go âDagenham & Redbridge have pulled themselves out of troubleâ yet theyâre only two points ahead of us,â said our boss. âCambridge United â what a great team and what a great season theyâve had, but we can go above them on Saturday if we win.
âSo there has to be a sense of perspective in everything that we do. Weâve come a million miles in two-and-a-half months, weâve changed everything but weâre still nowhere near where I want us to be â from a playing point of view, a position point of view, as a club, weâve not even scratched the surface.
âBut weâve got to be realistic as to where we are. If weâre saying that Dagenham & Redbridge are out of trouble, then âWow. Weâre doing a great job at the minute.ââ
Murray added: âThereâs no covering it up that our away form is poor, but the positives of the whole situation is that our home form has been superb.
âWe know that the away form is something that weâve got to look at, and, as we are as staff and as a group of people, weâre analysing everything on it because it has to be put right. If we get it right, itâll make the next nine weeks a lot easier.â
