Youngsters record comfortable win in H-K-L North Midlands League.
Ollie Roome’s hat-trick inspired our development squad to a comfortable 4-0 win over Dunkirk in the H-K-L North Midlands League last night.
The young striker was in blistering form as he continued his fine goalscoring form in the division. Denham Saxton was our other scorer.
Roome opened the scoring early in the first half when he found the target following a corner from the left and he didn’t take long to double the Stags’ lead as he converted a spot-kick, having been fouled by the ‘keeper inside the area.
Dunkirk were always second best and it was 3-0 to Mansfield at the break thanks to a curling free-kick by Denham Saxton.
After the re-start, the hosts put up a stern challenge in an effort to keep the score down, but it wasn’t enough to stop Roome completing his hat-trick.
