Paul Cox says his side still have it all to do, despite being made favourites to win the title with six games left of the season.
Our side are just one point behind leaders Kidderminster Harriers and with three games in hand over the Aggborough outfit.Â
But Cox says he is not looking beyond tomorrow nightâs trip at promotion rivals Wrexham, where a point would see us hit top spot.
âAll weâre concerned about is getting our heads down and working hard â thatâs all weâre trying to do,â said Cox.
Paul Cox is speaking to Jason Harrison (Mansfield 103.2)
âWeâll keep going until weâre told itâs mathematically certain [that weâre promoted].Â
âTheyâre looking hungry and are looking after themselves. Â They understand these next six games are massive for them.â
Coxâs side are one win away from setting two new club records after recording 12 successive wins and 11 away from home. Â
And after the starlight has shone upon our striking record of late, the manager was quick to praise defensive form, which has been equally as formidable, conceding just three goals in nine outings.
âAs a team, weâre defending. Thereâs telepathy between the back four â theyâre a rock solid unit. Â Tails (Greg Taylor) has come in and has looked like heâs played there all season. Â
âBut whatâs happened doesnât interest me anymore, itâs what could happen. Â The lads have set high standards and have to maintain them."
