Manager Paul Cox says he wants to see his side kick-start their season tomorrow night with a good result against Concord Rangers in the FA Cup.

The Beachboys head to One Call Stadium tomorrow night having gained an excellent point away at Conference South leaders Boreham Wood on Saturday, a result which sees them lie 15th in the table.

Stags, meanwhile, have been unable to gain maximum points from their last eight outings, a run of form which the manager is keen to change tomorrow night.

“It’s about getting a win now and igniting that little bit extra in us,” said Cox, speaking at this morning’s news conference. “But no one will come and help us, you have to do it from within. That’s what you’ll be looking for. You’re looking for yourself, your staff and players to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and impose yourself on it.

“We have to have that desire and that urge to do that and I see tomorrow night as being one of those games.

On tomorrow's opponents, who are set to play in the first round of the Cup for the first time in their history tomorrow, he said: “It’ll be a tough game. We have to earn the right to play tomorrow night. They’ll probably be looking at us and our recent form and probably saying ‘this is a game which we want to get our teeth into.’

“As we’ve seen in the FA Cup, there’s been a number of giant killings. Any one who underestimates clubs in the lower leagues and non league football can come up against an almighty shock.

“We want to go as far as we can in it [the FA Cup].  It’s something that in, previous years, we have created great memories. Going back to last season, our first game was one [against St Albans] which ignited our season. We ended with a great finish to the season."
