Manager Adam Murray says his team have made a notable improvement since our last match against Bury, but insists there is more to come from his players.

The Stags were comfortably beaten 2-0 by the Shakers at Gigg Lane when the two sides last met on 28 December but have since gained a number of impressive results under Adam Murray’s revolution.

The two teams will go head to head this Saturday, with Bury in sixth place and the Stags positioned in 19^th in Sky Bet League Two.

And Adam Murray today re-affirmed that his new-look squad are heading in the right direction.

“I think we’ve come a very long way [since the Bury game]," said our boss.

“In the three games that I think we have been very poor, Bury being one of them, you have to give certain credit to your opposition.

“I said before the Bury game there [at Gigg Lane], that they’re an outstanding outfit.

"For the resources and the infrastructure which they have, they probably believe they’re a little bit below where they should be [in the league].  

"For me, they’re a top drawer team in this league and probably should be inside the top three.

“I know the guys down there set very high standards and I imagine they will expect themselves to be inside the top three."

After obtaining seven points from the last nine available, Murray says his players will head into Saturday's match with optimism.

“We are on our journey and we’re progressing every week. It’ll be another tough test with for us [on Saturday], one which we’ll go into with a lot of confidence.

“We have a certain way of playing at home, and that won’t change.

“We’ve had some good results and some very high performances but we’re only just scratching the surface of where I believe I can take this team and football club.

“The boys are high in confidence. They’re playing superbly at the minute and can’t wait to get their teeth into another challenge."

Stags could be without winger Junior Brown for Saturday’s match after the winger suffered a hamstring problem during last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Cheltenham Town

“Junior’s struggling with his hamstring; obviously we had to take him off on Saturday,” said Murray.

“It looks like he’ll miss the Bury encounter, which is a big blow for us because he’s been superb. But we’ve got Jeff [Monakana] who can come in and do a very good job for us.”
