CEO wants large family turnout for big match

26 April 2017

Stags’ chief executive Carolyn Radford has urged families in Nottinghamshire to take advantage of our great value family ticket for this Saturday’s big match against Portsmouth at One Call Stadium.

We welcome Pompey to Mansfield on Saturday with a place in the Sky Bet League Two play-off places in our sights.

Manager Steve Evans’ men currently sit one point and one place outside the top seven with two games remaining of the campaign.

And Mrs Radford believes Saturday’s fixture has the makings of a brilliant day for families to enjoy.

“Saturday’s big match against Portsmouth will be a great day for families and we have a brilliant family ticket on offer for the match,” Mrs Radford said.

“Two adults and two children can watch the game for just £36, or an adult and child for only £18.”

The chief executive admitted to feeling the nerves ahead of the season finale, but says there is a really good feeling around the club at the moment.

“There’s a real buzz about the club at the moment and it does feel like the time we got promoted, [it's] the same energy I’m feeling around the place.

“We can only take one game at a time; I know that’s the case. We’ve managed to tick them off, we’ve had some good wins recently so we’ve got to win on Saturday and we’ve got to win at Crawley.

“I am so nervous - I can’t breathe during the matches! I truly believe we can do it and I just want everyone to get behind us and come to the game against Portsmouth.

“It’s so important; the players, Steve [Evans] and everybody, we all need your support and I just want to pack the stadium. Portsmouth are very vocal as it is so we are hoping we can match their voices and hopefully be really triumphant.”

Mrs Radford, who became the club’s CEO in 2011, wants an ‘electric atmosphere’ inside One Call Stadium to help the players achieve a positive result against our Hampshire opponents.

“Come down, please support us, let’s have an electric atmosphere here at the ground, I’m sure the players will do us proud and please get yourself down, have a great bank holiday weekend and let’s hope we’re joyous by 5 o’clock on Saturday afternoon.

“We want to be the pride of Nottinghamshire, we really do. Everything we’re doing off the pitch; the facilitating, the new training ground, the youth team have done an amazing thing as they’ve got their title again two years on the trot, which is an incredible achievement.

“We’re just pushing - we just want that magical little bit of lady luck to go our way and hopefully our dream can stay alive.”
