Please do not enter the pitch on Saturday

18 April 2024

Important information ahead of Saturday’s final home match of the season.

The first team players and staff would like to show their thanks for your superb support over the course of the campaign with a lap of appreciation following full-time on Saturday at home to Gillingham.

However, this will only be able to happen should there be no pitch incursions whatsoever.

Supporters are reminded about the dangers of entering the field of play and the penalties that could result from such actions.

Everyone is hugely grateful for your support in the stands this season, and the noise and atmosphere you create is a fundamental part of what makes our club so great.

However, we must remind supporters that in the interests of safety and wellbeing for everyone inside our stadium, the pitch is for players, managers and officials, while the stands are for fans to support their team.

The message to supporters is simple: please respect the players and show your continued support from the stands.

The players will perform a lap of appreciation following full-time on Saturday at home to Gillingham, but only if you give them their space to say thank you with their families in safety.

Anyone identified coming onto the pitch at any point - either during the game or afterwards - will receive an automatic club ban and police action. This can impact employment and education prospects, restrict ability to travel overseas, and could result in a prison sentence. Club bans have also been extended to accompanying parents or guardians of children who have taken part in this activity and encouraged their children to go onto the pitch.

Please do not risk ruining this deserved lap of honour by the players.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
