Youngsters enjoy Carvery and Fire Station tripsRecent Mascots
We had seven young mascots for our recent home game with Plymouth Argyle.
Joshua Gray, 10, attends Forest Town Primary School. He loves playing with his friends outdoors and his favourite player is Chris Clements.
Wentworth McMillan goes to Abbey Primary School. The six-year-old enjoys football, kung fu, reading and playing on his Xbox and Chris Clements is his favourite player.
Liam Poulton is a nine-year-old who enjoys several sports including football, golf and cricket. He goes to Oak Tree Primary School and his favourite player is Liam Marsden.
Bradley Worthington, aged eight, is also a pupil at Oak Tree Primary School. The youngster loves football – especially watching burly forward Matt Rhead.
Emilee Tagg is another youngster who goes to Oak Tree Primary School. The six-year-old likes reading, writing, drawing and football and her favourite player is Martin Riley.
Jakub Nowakowska goes to St. Patricks School. The 10-year-old likes football with Sascha Studer being his favourite player.
Finally, seven-year-old Luke Betts is a huge Mansfield Town fan. He attends Oak Tree Primary School, enjoys football and loves watching the team play.
All of the mascots were invited via our ‘Widening the Net’ project, which is run in partnership with Nottinghamshire Police. We hope they all enjoyed the experience and had a wonderful afternoon.
Female Football Development
Our Female Football Development Programme (FFDP) is progressing very well with regular attendees at numerous venues throughout the local area.
Head of FFDP, Jordan Ferrer, said: "It’s great to see so many young girls getting involved with football with us at Football in the Community. It’s important to keep them engaged during their time we spend in their school."

The Kinder+Sport Football League U11 Kids Cup
The national organised competition starts this month with local primary schools being given the opportunity of a life-time – a chance to play at Wembley Stadium at half-time of this season’s Sky Bet League Two play-off final.
Over the next few weeks, we will host several qualifying stages with the top teams progressing through to the semi-final stage and ultimately ending with two schools in our local final, which will be played during the half-time interval of a future first team match.
Our competition began this week with entries from St Peters, Sutton Road, Dalestorth, St Andrews and Peafield Lane Academy.
The winning team from our local final will progress to the regional finals in March and then hopefully on to the main final at Wembley Stadium in May.
Our representatives from last year, Ravenshead School, had a great tournament and narrowly missed out on a place in the final, losing 2-1 to a school representing Fleetwood Town in the final of the regional stages.
