Local school progress in national cup
Samuel Barlow School will be representing Mansfield Town in the upcoming regional final of The Football League under 11 cup.
The school won the local stage of the competition where Stags’ players Matt Green and Liam Marsden presented the players with their trophies.
Football in the Community wishes the boys the best of luck in the regional finals, which will be held in Morecambe later this month.
Should the Samuel Barlow team progress through the competition in Lancashire, they will play in the national final at Wembley Stadium in May.
Football in the Community would like to thank Dave Townsend of Mansfield Carpets, Kerry from Natwest Bank and the Football League Trust for helping with the much-needed recent improvements to our community room.
We have completely redeveloped our community room with new carpets and repainted the walls.
The renovation will benefit both our staff and the children who use our facility, therefore we are extremely grateful.
Players visit local school
Defender Liam Marsden and midfielder Jack Thomas attended Sutton Road School during a weekly football session last week.
The players took part in the activities on the day, as well as posing for photos and signing autographs.
