Female Football on the up
Female Football Development officer Jordan Ferrer has been delivering football-related activities to girls and women aged 14 to 25 in recent weeks.
Here at Football in the Community, we have set ourselves the challenge of engaging 180 females into football in the Mansfield area this season and Jordan’s campaign is helping towards that goal.
We have organised sessions with various schools and colleges such as West Notts College, Joseph Whitaker School, Garibaldi College, Dukeries Academy and All Saints School and all the sessions put on so far have been really well received.
Jordan Ferrer, who has been running the sessions said: “FFD is currently in its third year here at Mansfield. The females have shown great enthusiasm towards the sessions and the numbers of participants is growing every session as we add to the 360 females from the previous years.”
Mansfield Town Ladies’ player Charlotte Meads has also joined the Female Football Development programme for the current season. Charlotte has been attending our sessions alongside Jordan and helps by offering the girls advice and even helping with the coaching sessions.
